                       JOSHUA FISHBEIN
                       Allahu Echad (God is One)
                       • SATB, div; violin; Hebrew, Arabic (Deuteronomy 6:4; Adhan Call to Worship)
                       • 6'00". Combination Islamic call to worship and The Sh’ma, a central prayer in Judaism.
Purposeful omission of Israel and Muhammad, focusing on monotheism as a uniting
theme. Scordatura violin turning in Middle Eastern tradition. In a world in desperate need
of Unity, this piece is power and beauty wrapped in one! Needs passionate, solid choir.
                         (ProjectEncore.org/joshua-fishbein)

                       JULIAN DAVID BRYSON
                       A Riddle
                       • SATB; piano; English (Melanie Stapleton)
                       • 3'00". Literally a riddle that each choir singing it must wrestle with: "I am a stealthy
force of darkness in the shadows whose footsteps sparkle in the moonlight. I am…"
Final measure leave room for inserted 'solutions.' Brilliant respect for cambiata para-
meters; and a genuine musical challenge with no pandering. Not easy. Worth it!
                        (ProjectEncore.org/julian-david-bryson)

                       MICHAEL BUSSEWITZ-QUARM
                       The Redium Girl
                       • SSAA, solo group of treble voices; a cappella (optional synth); English (Shantel Sellers)
                       • 4'00". Part of the composer's ‘This is My Name’ Series — Based on the tragic story of
young women who were exposed to radium as part of their work in clock factories who
eventually died from the exposure. Intended to shine a light on people working in
tragic conditions. Makes dramatic use of overtone singing and body percussion.
                        (ProjectEncore.org/michael-bussewitz-quarm)

                       D. GEOFFREY BELL (new to PROJECT : ENCORE)
Come With Me to the Sea
                       • SSAA; piano, optional cello obbligato; English (D. Geoffrey Bell)
                       • 1' 44". A exuberant invitaiton to share the adventure of life with freedom and
adandon! Alternating between E-major and e-minor, duet lines and full four-part
harmonies, the piece is largely in a jubilant compound meter. The vocal lines are lovely
and very singable. Excellent even as a concert closer for a treble choir!
