This imitative motet is a celebration of light, with cascading lines
representing light streaming in, ascending lines a lifting of the spirit.
Interrupting echoes of Renaissance motet writing are shifting meters
and chromatic inconsistencies. Accessible to high school singers;
interesting enough for professional ensembles.

in a beautifully shimmering context, Matt Wetmore provides
a treat for both singers and audience alike. Bursts of “light”
emerge sometimes unexpectedly, as the theme initially in-
troduced by a soloist weaves throughout the voices. The
ensemble must be large enough to handle substantial divisi
