JOSEPH ECKMAN
Psalm 100
• SSAATTBB; optional Sop high D solo at end; English (Hebrew Testament)
• 4’ 45’. Exhuberant setting of this well-known Psalm! Vibrantly rhythmic, mix of
chordal and independent-line construction, often simultaneously. Middle, slower
section in lovely 4-part motet style. The writing feels natural in its flow, yet never lacks
for interesting harmonic twists. Needs 8 solidly independent sections. Exciting closer!

JUSTINE KOONTZ
Dixit Maria
• UNISON; piano; Latin (Luke 1)
• 3’ 45”. Using an incredible economy of resources, composer Koontz has created a
truly beautiful setting of this well-known text of the Annunciation. Through creative/
dramatic use of text repetition and tempo fluctuation, the piece captures the awe, the
hesitancy, the eagerness … in beautiful lines. Art worthy of any treble ensemble.
